Before contacting an employer
- Read the job title, location, salary, hours and duties carefully.
- Search for the establishment independently and check its address.
- Confirm that the public contact number belongs to the employer.
- Be cautious if the salary is unusually high for very little work.
Before attending an interview
- Confirm the interview address and interviewer’s name.
- Tell a trusted person where you are going and when you expect to return.
- Prefer a recognised workplace during normal hours; be careful with isolated or residential locations.
- Keep control of original certificates and identity documents. Do not leave originals behind.
Never share these
Do not share banking passwords, card PINs, UPI PINs, OTPs, screen-sharing access or remote-control access. Do not send unnecessary Aadhaar, PAN or bank-document copies over chat. If a copy is genuinely required later, verify the employer first and consider marking it with its specific purpose and date.
